The second in a four book series, this book will teach you strategies for analyzing fiction and informational texts. While reading informational text passages, you will learn how to make inferences & conclusions, find main & supporting details, sequence events, compare & contrast, find cause-and-effect relationships, and meaning and tone. While reading fiction stories, you will learn to identify the plot, character, theme, and figurative language. First you will work on a two-page skill overview where the comprehension strategy is modeled. Charts, diagrams, and graphic organizers will help you to organize your thinking. Then there will be a guided practice where you can apply the strategy.
